Drawn into Bird song with Melinda Nakagawa

Drawing songs? How is that possible? It's fun and not about copying sonograms or writing musical notes. Join international known artist and naturalist Melinda Nakagawa to learn how sketching, listening, and discerning, bird song will profoundly increase your memory and recall of bird songs. Melinda developed ways to personally learn more birding by ear, and the nature journal was a valuable tool. We wil spend the morning in the classroom, followed by a short walk to the wetland to listen and draw. You will practice easy, playful ways to capture the sounds of birds in nature journal to develop your auditory ID skills in a fun and creative way. Please bring your journal or sketchbook along with your favorite drawing tools (pencil, ink pen).
